How Lilith aspects work
An aspect happens when a planet or angle sits a specific number of degrees from Lilith on the ecliptic. The planet’s core job—Mars for anger, Venus for desire, the Moon for safety—gets tangled with your shadow. Whenever that planet acts, it pulls up the exact impulse you were told to hide. You don’t just feel the planet; you feel the refusal to apologize for it.
The checker tracks only hard contacts to mean Lilith: conjunctions, squares and oppositions. The checker above flags conjunctions and oppositions within a 5° orb, and squares within a tight 3° orb. Lilith is the lunar apogee—an empty mathematical point, not a planet that radiates across a wide orb. Tight orbs keep the reading sharp so you don’t blame Lilith for a sloppy ten-degree stretch.
In 20,000 random US charts (1950–2010), each single hard contact appears in only about 2–3% of charts. True (osculating) Lilith sits a median 9.8° away, matching mean Lilith contacts in only 15–30% of those charts. The exception is the Moon conjunction, where true Lilith agrees with mean Lilith in 71.0% of cases. That happens because the osculating apogee gets pulled toward the Moon itself whenever they line up.
Without a birth time, you can still check Lilith aspects to slower planets like Mars and Venus. You cannot check an Ascendant aspect, because your rising degree and houses shift every couple of hours. A Moon–Lilith conjunction can also never be confirmed for a whole day without a birth time. The Moon moves 11.8° to 15.4° a day, blowing right past the 10° conjunction window.

Are Lilith aspects bad?
They aren’t bad, they’re loud, and they refuse to behave politely when a planet gets triggered. A hard aspect links a planet’s drive to the lunar apogee, where you exile unwanted instincts. That friction creates messy standoffs until you stop pretending you don’t want what that planet wants. Owned consciously, a hard Lilith aspect gives you backbone and zero tolerance for manipulation.
Do Lilith aspects matter more than Lilith’s sign?
Yes, a tight aspect hits harder and shows up faster in your daily habits than a sign placement alone. Mean Lilith spends about 8.8 months in each sign, so everyone born in your window shares that backdrop. A conjunction within 5° or a square within 3° to a personal planet appears in only 2–3% of charts. The sign sets the mood of your shadow, while the aspect pulls the trigger.
Why does true Lilith show different aspects than mean Lilith?
Mean Lilith is the averaged lunar apogee, while true (osculating) Lilith tracks the apogee of the Moon’s instantaneous orbit as it swings back and forth. Across 1900–2100, the median gap between them is 9.8°, and the largest gap reaches 29.9°. Because our aspect orbs are only 3° to 5°, a 9.8° shift breaks the contact in most charts. True Lilith matches a mean Lilith contact only 15–30% of the time, except for Moon conjunctions at 71.0%.
Which Lilith aspect is the most intense?
Conjunctions hit the hardest, especially when Lilith sits within 5° of the Moon, Venus, Mars, or the Ascendant. In a conjunction, the planet and the shadow occupy the same slice of the zodiac and fire together. You can’t use Mars to fight or Venus to love without waking up Lilith at the same time. Squares and oppositions create sharp friction, but a conjunction fuses the exiled instinct straight into your personality.
